On entering this garden one is transported back in time to gracious living and a traditional old family home. One is immediately struck by the detail and care of the planting; textures and colour are grounded with the clever use of rocks and bark which add interest to the scheme. Well manicured lawns unify the different sections and lead the visitor to explore and enjoy the garden. A visit to this garden would not be complete without a peep at the delightful potager which provides a constant supply of fresh vegetables and herbs for Bev’s kitchen. Two old established holly trees flank the entrance to the wide front veranda.
Tea and decadent cakes will be served on fine china on the wide front veranda.
Saturday: Hes Germishuizen and Megan Ellis will fill the garden with piano and guitar/cello sounds. Meghan and Hesmari are local musicians and worship leaders at the Community Church of Mount Currie. Hesmari is a pianist whilst Meghan plays bass and cello. They are very much in love with Jesus and enjoy various styles of music and forms of creativity. They have been playing music together for the past five years. They will be playing an assortment of music genres on the cello and piano.
Sunday: Jenna Bird and some of her students will delight the visitors. The JBird Music Band is a group of young up and coming musicians, from Kokstad, KwaZulu Natal, consisting of children from the ages of, as young as 6 years old through to 18 years old.
