Join us and the Endangered Wild Life Trust for an epic adventure into East Griqualand’s back country. Rolling hills, grasslands, wild flowers, with trails along the Umzimvubu and overlooking the unique Cedarville Flats. This breath-taking scenery is part of the Cedarville Protective Environment consisting of privately owned land that forms part of the Eastern Cape Biodiversity Stewardship Programme. The Cedarville Flats serve as one of the largest feeding grounds for Wattled and Grey Crowned Cranes while the surrounding mountainous grassland and wetland sections provide prefect foraging and breeding grounds for South Africa’s iconic blue cranes and Grey Crowned Cranes. The area is home to half of SA’s population of Wattle Cra
ne, with just a mere 320 breeding pairs left in South Africa. Other Endangered animals are the Oribi antelope, the Cape Vulture and the Critically Endangered Bearded Vulture. The trails will consist of single and farm track through the area with good challenges for the more intermediate runners and cyclists.
All races will start and end at the Cedarberg Guest Farm. Kick back afterwards with a hot shower, free range steak and Craft beer. There is a fully equipped children’s area and child minders
