On the edge of Kokstad, behind a blue wall is a contemporary house, juxtaposed with a distinctly South African take on an English garden. Ikamva, is the home of Wayne and Julie-Ann Buss. This ever-evolving garden is divided into distinct areas each with interesting features and focal points. Her productive potager section framed by lemon and lime trees, is worth mentioning.

Nicole from “Pop up takeaways” will be providing light lunches over the weekend and there will also be craft beer and wine available. Alecia will once again be selling her renowned fruit cakes, mince pies and health rusks.

Siseko, a talented pianist, will play background music on Saturday in addition to a chamber choir, from Kokstad College, performing at 11H30 on Saturday.

There will be Julie-Ann’s mosaic work as well as her students’ artwork on display. There will also be numerous artists and artisans selling their wares in the garden. Kym will have handcrafted atrium bowls, candles, perfume and printed Scandi cushions for sale.

Cheryl, from “Something Country” will be displaying her bespoke wrought iron furniture. Heather will have her colourful reversible shwe shwe bags available and Nita will be selling crochet and knitted goods as well as handmade earrings and organic “Guinea Fowl Roost” preserves.

At 16H00 on Saturday, Dr Milner Snell will be giving a talk entitled “My Kingdom for a Horse: Polo and Horseracing in East Griqualand.” This will be followed from 17h00 to 21H00 by a ‘Sundowners and Sosaties’ evening hosted by Holy Cross at R60.00 per ticket.

On Sunday at 11H00, Glenn Scott will hold and interdenominational service in the garden and the Kokstad College chamber choir will once again perform at the service.
