On the edge of Kokstad, behind a blue wall is a contemporary house, juxtaposed with a distinctly South African take on an English garden. Ikamva, recently featured in the Gardener magazine, is the home of Wayne and Julie-Ann Buss. This ever-evolving garden is divided into distinct areas each with interesting features and focal points.
Besides the house and garden there will be numerous other points of interest:
Julie-Ann’s art students, young, and a little older, will be displaying and selling their art. Kym Surmon will be selling her hand-poured aromatic candles which were very popular last year and Julie-Ann’s unique mosaic bird baths will be on sale. Dr Milner Snell will be selling his historical books on East Griqualand and will be giving a talk on Saturday at 09:30.
Cheryl Joubert, of “Something Country”, will be displaying her bespoke garden and home furniture. Cheryl is happy to make furniture to your specifications or design. “Forest Garden Products” (Shane and Pam Oosthuizen) will have their eco-friendly decorative fencing, garden edgings, panelling, wooden pathways and various other landscaping products, made of eucalyptus and pine wood, on sale.
Sandi Mckenzie, of “Sew Much Love”, will be featuring her attractively embroidered linen, bags and children’s clothing. She will also have healthy banting-friendly granolas, salad dressing and honey available. Julie-Ann’s mother, Alecia, will once again be selling her delectable fruit cakes and Christmas mince pies. She will also be selling delicious health rusks this year.
Nicole from “Pop Up Take-Aways” will provide light lunches and cheese platters on Friday and Saturday and throughout the weekend there will be wine tasting in aid of Kokstad Round Table.
